Care Guide
Your bracelet has been carefully handcrafted using a section of your pet's collar along with genuine 925 sterling silver - transforming something once worn by them into something you can now wear everyday.
To help preserve your keepsake, please follow the care recommendations below.
Everyday Wear
To extend the life of your bracelet, I highly recommend the following:
- Avoid getting it wet as much as possible, as overtime this can stretch the bracelet (occasionally is fine, don't stress!)
- Remove before applying perfumes, lotions, or other chemicals
- Remove before sleeping and high impact activities, such as exercising
Fraying & Loose Fibres
Because your bracelet contains a genuine recycled section of your pet's collar, unfortunately an unavoidable side effect is some light fraying or loose fibres that will occur over time. This is completely normal and usually not very noticeable in everyday wear.
If you notice any loose fibres, avoid pulling on them. Instead, carefully trim them with a small pair of scissors as close to the surface as possible.
To help minimise fraying, avoid excessive rubbing against rough surfaces and remove your bracelet during activities that may cause unnecessary wear.
Storage
When not being worn, store your bracelet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive moisture. Ideally, keep it in the provided pouch to help prevent scratches and avoid misplacing it! (I learnt this the hard way.)
Cleaning Your Bracelet
Every few weeks, or whenever it’s looking a little dull, you can give your piece a quick clean at home very easily (this is also a great time to clean up any loose threads).
1. Sterling Silver Touch-Up
Naturally silver reacts with the everyday environments and tarnish and light scratches will occur. It’s completely normal, superficial, and easy to remove.
Simply give the silver a good rub using the provided polishing cloth - It’s pre-treated with polishing compound and made specifically for silver.
Afterwards I would recommend doing a general cleaning to remove any compound.
2. General Cleaning
- Run your bracelet under some warm water with soap (mild hand or dish soap is fine)
- Lather in the soap with your hands only, covering both the collar material and silver
- Rinse thoroughly, making sure to remove all soap
- Pat dry with a soft towel, making sure to soak in as much water as possible from the collar material, then let air dry until completely dry
Most importantly, wear your bracelet often and enjoy it! Any questions do not hesitate to message or email at hello@entwyned.com.au
Thank you!
